save the date...

Here's a new way to get the save the date info out. With help from world-class photographer Anthony Reyes here's a little slide show I made. Don't worry it's 21 seconds long. :)

Also here are some other nice pics from our photo shoot at Wilson Park. We were going for cliche engagement photos. Except we opted out of the piggy back photo. If Larry and I tried to do that we would end up on "When engagement photos went WRONG!" :)

Weddings, weddings, update...

So I have gotten some more things done in the past few months. First we picked out Bridesmaids dresses! My mother is going to sing a song at our ceremony and I got around to booking a block of hotel rooms. :) Oh and my wedding dress came in and it fits... right now... :)

Looks like this thing is going to happen! No backing out now!

Well I was going to add a photo to this entry but my computer at work SUCKS! So sorry.

Sale Barn slideshow

Ok so this isn't wedding related but it's cool! So I went to the Washington County Sale Barn in Fayetteville about 2 weeks ago and shot their second to last sale. We got audio and an interview from the owner's son. Here's how it turned out! Enjoy!

Relaxing in Mt. George...

This weekend the Fayetteville girls packed up our bathing suits and drove to Jackie's hometown of Mt. George, AR. We went to celebrate our friend Shandra's bachelorette party by the pool at Jackie's parents house. The area and the pool were so relaxing it was hard to leave.

Shandra is getting married at the end of the month so we threw her a very chill party with old friends, grilled food, and rum and cokes. We made sure to get her a silly veil so it would feel more like a bachelorette party.

Our host Jackie flew in from Virginia to hang out with her childhood friend. Really I think she just wanted to drink by a pool. HA!

Then is was time to play in the pool. Man I miss pools!

I think the hot tub made everyone sleepy so the party ended around midnight. Which is really early compared to my past bachelorette parties. Either way it was an awesome time!

Weddings, weddings, weddings...

Adam and Katie's wedding was a total blur of traveling but what a beautiful event once we got there. :) The rehearsal dinner was fantastic and in a wonderful location. I still have no idea where because we just followed people around in my dad's car. The ceremony was great and everyone navigated around the Memorial Day parade just fine. Well there was a moment we thought Marnet was going to miss it but all went well. I did my reading and didn't even step on the bride's dress. :) Well I did miss my cue but only EVERYONE noticed. :)

I managed to get both Adam and Katie getting ready because they both rock and waited for me to drive from one place to another. Also because Katie's dress fit so perfectly it was on in seconds. Lucky!!! :)

Larry got to help Adam get ready because every other groomsman was also running late. He was such an awesome trooper the entire day. I even had to drag him to a hair salon to watch the girls get their hair did. He managed to skip most of the torture by getting us breakfast. :)

Overall the weekend was wonderful and I hope the couple thought the same. :)

Off to Virginia we go...

This weekend my wonderful friends Adam and Katie are going to tie the knot in Virginia.

It should be so much fun! I, of course, will be taking photos but first I have to read something at their ceremony. It will be interesting and I have promised to be on my best behavior. No ad-libs and telling funny stories in front of their families. That's what the reception is for. :) I hope there is an open bar!

Here's the date already.... stop asking! :)

Ok Larry and I went to the Garden Room on Dickson Street yesterday and booked the room for June 19, 2010. So that's the day we're getting married! No rush to mark that down since 2010 calendar's haven't even been printed yet but everyone keeps asking so.... there HAPPY? :) HA!

The Garden Room is a cute little place tucked away behind the restaurants on Dickson Street. It has a pretty courtyard and an inside area for food, beer, etc. We have been there before and are both really excited! Stay tuned for more info!

Icealypse '09

Just in case people haven't heard.... There was a big f'n ice storm last week. Man that was a big pain in the butt! But at the same time it's why I became a photojournalist. It was so much fun to go to extreme's to get the photos we needed and to work my butt off with co-workers to get the paper out at all. :) Really it was so much fun! Here's a few photos of what happened around me in West Fork.

Last month I went home to Virginia and hung out with friends as they played Rock Band. Here's a little iMovie slideshow I put together. :) It's funny! Mainly because my friends are insane.

You know you're getting older when...

You know you are getting older when you go home to see your college roommate and instead of going out having a bunch of beer and dancing on stage with a blues band, you go to the hospital to see the twins she just gave birth to. :)

DSC_1266

She gave birth to a little boy and a little girl. I am still claiming that she named the girl after me!!! (she has my first name) They were so little! Both babies are healthy and at home now. My former roommate is very tired but happy to have everyone at home. :) It was weird shooting in a hospital but the pics came out ok in Black and White.

Mardi Gras multi-media

This is the first multi-media project I ever did. It was such an experience to put my photos with the sound gathered at the scene. My interview skills still sucked but I am working on that every day. :)

Either way Mardi Gras was an awesome first assignment.

So was there an election recently?

So after a long 12 hour day on election day here is the results. :) It was so cool to be there on the instant Obama was named the president elect. These are the photos from that instant.

pretty light...

So I went to this memorial/art dedication yesterday and the light was really great...on the crowd. So instead of the classic people talking in front of a sculpture I got crowd reactions in pretty light. Nothing special just pretty. :)

My First video....

This is the video I put together at NPPA's Multimedia Immersion workshop last May. It was a lot of hard work and not a lot of sleep but it came out pretty cool. I was given a press pass to Churchill Downs in Louisville. (yes, I had no idea this was a big deal) I found Forrest Kaelin that morning and video taped him. He's a good 'ol boy that has been at Churchill Downs since he was 15. He's been there 57 years, you do the math...

The video looks a lot better at: http://www.multimediaimmersion.com/# (click My First Video)

That's also where you can see all the other students video's! It's pretty cool so check it out.

Either way this is the You Tube upload of the video so I am sorry for the poor quality.

Enjoy!

Dutch Oven video...

This is a little video I made for work about a Dutch Oven Competition during the Washington County Fair. It was a lot of fun people, a lot of rain, and I got there A LOT early cuz Dustin sucks. ;)
